I would give this 4。5 stars。 The only thing I would mark the duology down for was the difficulty in getting to know the characters and setting in the beginning and that the characters definitely don't read like teenagers。 They read like they are older。 Still - the character development and plotting are superb。 These were completely wonderful books and I didn't want to put them down。 I actually had to stop in the middle to read a different book (for work), which is why reading these took me so lo I would give this 4。5 stars。 The only thing I would mark the duology down for was the difficulty in getting to know the characters and setting in the beginning and that the characters definitely don't read like teenagers。 They read like they are older。 Still - the character development and plotting are superb。 These were completely wonderful books and I didn't want to put them down。 I actually had to stop in the middle to read a different book (for work), which is why reading these took me so long。 The characters are very diverse and fun to read。 Their stories are each unique。 It's wonderful getting to know each of them。 I also love trying to figure out what will happen with the story。 I can usually predict things too easily with books, but that wasn't the case with this。 There as always something new to learn and figure out and I really loved that aspect as well。 Would highly recommend。 。。。more

God, these are good books。 Perfection。 The representation and diversity seemed organic and wasn't awkward or shoe horned into the book。 The characters were all loveable in their own way, and it's because of the level of detail Leigh put into their back stories, their lives, how their environment and early lives affected them。 She really gave us six fully-developed, three-dimensional characters。 What a queen。 The world building is confusing at first if you haven't read Shadow and Bone, but it's e God, these are good books。 Perfection。 The representation and diversity seemed organic and wasn't awkward or shoe horned into the book。 The characters were all loveable in their own way, and it's because of the level of detail Leigh put into their back stories, their lives, how their environment and early lives affected them。 She really gave us six fully-developed, three-dimensional characters。 What a queen。 The world building is confusing at first if you haven't read Shadow and Bone, but it's easy enough to pick up on with a few glances at the wiki。 And you CAN read it before Shadow and Bone and still not know the bulk of what happened in that series, which is so impressive。 The commitment to the storytelling and lore of the prior books is there without overt spoilers ruining anything。These are the best two books in the Grishaverse without a doubt。 。。。more

I went into this book blind from all the hype on tiktok。 I only knew of the heist and nothing else。 Normally fantasy isn't my style, but I decided to give this book a try。 I was confused for the first 2-3 chapters I am not going to lie, but I got into it so fast。 I speed-read the first book and finished it in a day。 The crooked kingdom broke my heart so many times I had to take a break from it so it took me 2 days。 Not to mention I was busy as well, so don't take that wrong way because it was al I went into this book blind from all the hype on tiktok。 I only knew of the heist and nothing else。 Normally fantasy isn't my style, but I decided to give this book a try。 I was confused for the first 2-3 chapters I am not going to lie, but I got into it so fast。 I speed-read the first book and finished it in a day。 The crooked kingdom broke my heart so many times I had to take a break from it so it took me 2 days。 Not to mention I was busy as well, so don't take that wrong way because it was also a good book。 Probably one of my most favourite books to date and would 100% recommend to everyone。 There is a fantasy world, romance, drama and it just keeps you on the edge of your seat。 Also Kaz Brekker made everything worth it :)) 。。。more

LOVE this series!! The worldbuilding is so well done and unique, with a very steampunk feel to it。 Every single character is fantastically developed and loveable, despite them all being very hardened criminals - it is amazing how you are able to see every single one of the six grow throughout two books。 The story is well planned with a beautiful and satisfying ending (but yes, it did make me cry)。

This may be the most unpopular review I've written。。。。It's just that the series was。。。。。。。。。 Not that interesting。。。 To be clear, I liked the writing, It's the characters that I didn't connected to or rather the main characters, the couple Kaz & Inej, I didn't feel any chemistry between them。 and if to be rated separately, six of crows would receive a 3 from me, Crooked kingdom on the other。。。。 Well, it definitely wasn't up to the mark。。。。。I liked the other group characters: Nina, Jasper, Wylan This may be the most unpopular review I've written。。。。It's just that the series was。。。。。。。。。 Not that interesting。。。 To be clear, I liked the writing, It's the characters that I didn't connected to or rather the main characters, the couple Kaz & Inej, I didn't feel any chemistry between them。 and if to be rated separately, six of crows would receive a 3 from me, Crooked kingdom on the other。。。。 Well, it definitely wasn't up to the mark。。。。。I liked the other group characters: Nina, Jasper, Wylan and Mythais, In this very order actually。 And all the stars are for them mainly。。。。。。*I hoped I'll like it this big franchise of the fantasy world but I guess its really true that different people have different choices。 。。。more

An absolutely FANTASTIC series where both books are up to an incredibly high standard in all areas。 The cast of characters, plot and everything is just perfect and has earned a very special place in my heart。

I had trouble finding someone to identify with。 Kaz, who is too distant。 Inej, too uptight and do gooder。 Nina and Matthias are just so wrapped in each other with the love/hate thing。。。 And then, I found it, where I did not expect it。 Jesper and Wyland。 Jesper is is excited by what he shouldn't be。 Unhappy, at times with what he is doing。 but at peace with why。 This is a story where I feel you cannot just read and identify and go on your merry way。 But the sum of all its parts makes into a beaut I had trouble finding someone to identify with。 Kaz, who is too distant。 Inej, too uptight and do gooder。 Nina and Matthias are just so wrapped in each other with the love/hate thing。。。 And then, I found it, where I did not expect it。 Jesper and Wyland。 Jesper is is excited by what he shouldn't be。 Unhappy, at times with what he is doing。 but at peace with why。 This is a story where I feel you cannot just read and identify and go on your merry way。 But the sum of all its parts makes into a beautiful whole。I was sad at the end。 Really sad。I cried, because some received the ending they deserved and others were short changed。 I did not finish this book with a smile on my face。 。。。more

The Six of Crows is a very indulging adventure that keeps readers constantly on their toes and waiting to see what the group of thieves will do next。 The book follows a group of skillful criminals as they try to break into Fjerda's most secure facility, the Ice Court。 They have to rescue a brilliant scientist who has made a new drug that enhances powers of the Girsha to an extreme level making them almost invincible。 The only problem is there is another group going after the scientists and the j The Six of Crows is a very indulging adventure that keeps readers constantly on their toes and waiting to see what the group of thieves will do next。 The book follows a group of skillful criminals as they try to break into Fjerda's most secure facility, the Ice Court。 They have to rescue a brilliant scientist who has made a new drug that enhances powers of the Girsha to an extreme level making them almost invincible。 The only problem is there is another group going after the scientists and the job is an almost suicide mission。 No one has ever broken in or out of the Ice Court。 The Six of Crows has many themes throughout the book。 My favorite is self adversity and overcoming your own fears。 These are very important to the reader as we can use these themes in real life。 Kaz, the main protagonist, has to face his own fears of being in tight spaces and being able to touch human skin to human skin。 It is easy to relate to Kaz as many of us have fears and we can use Kaz as an example of how to overcome some of our fears。 A point in the book that really stuck out to me was when Kaz was locked in a carriage and forced to be in a tight room。 He remembers back to his younger years which really frightens him making him almost cause the mission to end in failure。 This stuck with me because Kaz was shown to be what he really is a scared kid pretending to know everything。 I would recommend this book to any high schooler。 This book fits in with the world as it shows how shielding yourself from others only leads to more problems。 Many readers may relate to this and stop hiding from others。 Anyone in high school or above should read this book and enjoy this twisted and fictional story。 。。。more

Kaz Brekker is my eternal favourite book character。 Like really, I've met quite a lot of characters through my life as a reader and many of them were utterly great —but he is my favourite character。 Of all time。 Ever。 There's no one like him。 Kaz Brekker is my eternal favourite book character。 Like really, I've met quite a lot of characters through my life as a reader and many of them were utterly great —but he is my favourite character。 Of all time。 Ever。 There's no one like him。 。。。more

Kuwei? I’m not sure if we count him, but he lives in my heart。) I got so attached to all of these kids and their tragic lives, though I wish I had read this when I was younger; my adult-brain just kept wanting to reach into the books and yank the characters out of treacherous situations。To conclude: READ THEM。 Mind your limits, of course—certain parts of the series can get quite dark—but there are plenty of other elements to keep you sufficiently enthralled。 (Warning: gore, violence, referenced sexual abuse, violence against minors, murder, references to sexual assault。)Madi 。。。more

Being used to read YA fantasy, this duology really surprised me。 Leigh Bardugo fleshes out the characters in a masterful way, and by the end you can feel a tiny piece of you in every one of the six main crows。 It's a very current read, it has a lot of parallels with real life struggles - addiction, depression, violence - but it's never in a way that feels forced or in your face。 The same can be said about the nuanced way Leigh writes about diversity, disability and trauma。 If you are looking for Being used to read YA fantasy, this duology really surprised me。 Leigh Bardugo fleshes out the characters in a masterful way, and by the end you can feel a tiny piece of you in every one of the six main crows。 It's a very current read, it has a lot of parallels with real life struggles - addiction, depression, violence - but it's never in a way that feels forced or in your face。 The same can be said about the nuanced way Leigh writes about diversity, disability and trauma。 If you are looking for it, you can find several moments that relate to hard topics, but if you're just in it for the fun, Six Of Crows could be just another great YA fantasy book。 And that's awesome。 Also, Kaz sees Jesper as his brother。 。。。more

There are not enough good things in the universe to say about this book。 It was so well written。 I loved ALL of the man characters。 I could not choose a favorite。 I was SOBBING by the end。 I cried when it was over because missed the characters so much and I am still getting emotional just writing this review。 This book will WRECK you。 But you will fall so in love with all of them。

absolutely amazing。 the first book had a lot of funny moments where the 6 main characters interacted which really made me attached to each and every one of them。 I also loved the part where they planned and executed the heist, it was extremely intriguing and thrilling。 the ending was super sad though, i had to put the book down for a moment to bawl my eyes out。 the book also had many great quotes that i loved。
